Vítkovice foundry saves 300 thousand annually thanks to lighting modernization.
Vítkovické slévárny announced that thanks to an investment in lighting modernization they will save approximately 300,000 CZK annually. The modern LED lighting, which will replace the existing discharge lighting in the production halls, cost one million CZK and was supplied by HORMEN from the ČEZ ESCO group.
The installation of lights in the roller machining hall and other areas was a challenge for the technicians. “We worked during full operation of the foundry, so we planned most of the work for afternoon and weekend shifts, when the operation is somewhat calmer” explained Tomáš Pikus, clarifying that the installed lights have a special construction. “They are designed with regard to the high ambient temperatures at the installation site. To dissipate the heat from the LED chips and ensure their long-term lifespan, the thermal management of the light fixture must be perfect,” added the sales director of Hormen.
